Oh Oh...she's crawling!

She just started crawling this weekend. We just figured she'd skip it and go straight to walking, but she's too foozool to wait for that.

Tash came to visit from Oregon along with Bruce, Bethany, Ben and Monique.

Monique and Ben took lessons from Salma on official form for professional thumb sucking.

Visit with Tash...

Tash came to visit this week from Oregon, which was wonderful. We're looking forward to returning the visit at Camp Sherman.

Salma has definitely been seeming more interested in standing these days. No sign of wanting to crawl, but she does like to hold herself up and have someone help her walk. We also took her swimming for the first time. We went to El Cerrito community pool. She did well. I wouldn't say she's a fish, but she eventually got somewhat comfortable floating on her front...not on her back though. Next time :)

April in Canada

Mommy-joon Jaleh has been staying with us for a while, but is going back to Terhran on Monday. It was absolutely wonderful for all of us, especially Salma, to have her around. Jashun kheli khali khohad bood.

We had a great time in Toronto around pesach. Salma got to visit with lots of cousins including Jacob and Nathan...

and Nevada and Zephron.

Rana was this year's new guest at seder.

We took a walk at the beaches. It was freezing!

Nine months

Well, she's not crawling yet, and doesn't really seem to eager to get up and walk, but she does have fun standing up.
We took another outing to the beach, this time with Khole Ameneh. This time, Salma was a lot more engaged...playing in the sand etc.

Buby and Zaida came for a visit from Toronto, and we all went out to Mangia Mangia for dinner.

Salma is seven months old

Salma is seven months old. The new thing is that she's started to sit on her own.

Salma babbling in the bouncy chair...

Our friend John (see previous post) turned us on to the Svan high chair. It's excellent. And it's great to have Salma "at the table". Of course, now she's inducted us into the age old game of fetch where she throws everything off the side, and we go fetch. She's turning out to be not a fussy eater. She loves sweet potato, carrots, and peas. And of course there's banana and apple sauce. But she's also quite happy to eat spinach. Not so crazy about avocado though...

Feeding herself from a bottle...

With Dayi Ali...

Asa

The little guy on the left is Asa, son of John (aka gOm) and Lara. He's a few weeks older than Salma.

John and Lara are busy remodeling their house nearby and will be moving back into the neighborhood shortly. We're really excited about that.

Mom

OK, so I'm sneaking in some pictures of Zahra...I'm sure you all won't mind :)

The picture in the video is a bit dark, but this is really about hearing Salma laugh.

Nersi and Bella

This post focusses on Nersi and Bella. Admittedly it took Salma a little time to warm up to them. At one point Salma was always crying with Nersi and afraid of Bella. But not anymore... as you can see...
